sand painting: BOUNTIFUL TEMPLE

BOUNTIFUL TEMPLE BY HINA GAUTHIER

transfering the drawing from the tracing paper to the polyphane paper

The autumn colors were obtained for sands collected from New-Zealand, Florida and Polynesia.

The foreground is finished.  The green pine tree peaking behind the arches turned out great.

I stsrted to work on the double arches and the shadows on the building.

I like it so far…

working on the mountain, making sure that some are left untouched for the snow effect.

The only thing left to do is for the spaces for the white sands: walls, snow, skies…

Parts of the walls are made with individual blocks  You can see some.

Parts needed are cut out, then the sand is spread on the sticky part and the surplus is removed.

The sand painting is done.  yeah!

It’s time to frame it.

An hour later, with  double framing done… still smiling!

DONE!!!

4weeks later the painting is done (32×26 inches). The painting was then sent to its new owner.
